Trackhouse Racing was by far the biggest surprise last year, and has kept it up so far in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Season. After a great day at Auto Club, Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain are firmly near the top of the standings already.
Ross Fastest Man In Auto Club
Ross Chastain had quite an impressive day, and swept the stages for the first time of his career. He also led the most laps at 91, en route to a 3rd place finish. He was by far the fastest man in the first half of the race, winning the second stage by nearly a 6 second margin. This was probably Ross's best performance in his NASCAR career to date, being a contender from the drop of the green flag to the very end.
As far as Suarez goes, he didn't have a bad day either. He hung around the top 10 most of the day, and overcame a pit road speeding penalty to finish in 4th. Overall, a great day for him after not quite having top-5 speed until late.
